I want to play my 360 XBLA games on my Apple TV 4K with Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Plus the indie titles. Every piece of content I've paid for that's tied to my account, I want to play anywhere. Xbox does that, I'll sign up for game pass indefinitely. Nostalgia must be preserved. Xbox should release new hardware along side certified hardware like Windows/Mac/Linux computers. AppleTV 4K. Once I found out that Microsoft...wasn't going to support backwards compatibility moving on from 360, I exited the industry. I have plenty of nostalgia to fall back on but for Xbox 360 I have several precious gems on disc I can load into either of my 360s, but I'm not logged in to my online account.
Doesn't sit right with me connecting old hardware to my internet. But, if Xbox released a new Xbox that had expandable storage and backwards compatible with Xbox OG, 360, One, Series S/X you sell clients a subscription to access that nostalgia. Essentially expand Game Pass, so nostalgia is monetized indefinitely. Be the Netflix of gaming. I want to play XBLA Crazy Taxy on my AppleTV. For those of you who are salty about console exclusives...how sad. This tribalism really confuses what matters to gamers: escape. Currently, I can't pay Xbox to escape because Microsoft didn't invest in their own nostalgia. Maybe things will change. All I know is the retro stuff is charming and timeless. Make Xbox Nostalgic Again!
