I bought “Islam for Dummies” on audiobook. I listened to a couple chapters. Basically, Muhammed believed he was visited by Gabriel the messenger of God and told him he was the final prophet. He told his first wife (a well to do merchant) who believed Muhammed because she admired his honesty up until that point. His first wife’s cousin was a Christian professional of some kind (perhaps like a monk equivalent) and having heard the recounting connected the dots and identified Gabriel’s approach to delivering God’s message. That was the independent confirmation that sent Muhammed preaching for a few years without traction. But his first wife shielded him emotionally and financially until Islam took.
Once Muhammed died there was a murderous race to supersede him. That’s where my investigation stopped. I had heard enough. Without Muhammed’s first wife’s support, Islam would have never happened. A woman. It was a belief without a witness even. But here’s the thing...my belief was a belief without a witness. But I learned quickly to not be an evangelist, thanks to my dealings with Atheists on X. So my faith poetically explained all things making God plausible. But that didn’t satisfy me anymore. So I rejected my faith (after my August 2026 psych ward stay). Long story short the revelation out of that was “All belief is cursed by creativity.” That made sense. So while temporarily rejected God it was to reach for answers. I’m angry at God because my 12 year long faith birthed by psychosis was fabricated on the fly. My proof that God was real was in all likelihood and chemical imbalance fusing a dominant thought only poetry could solve. So to take the point further I’ve landed on “Coincidence is cursed by creativity.” What does that mean? Belief can be made out of a coincidence whether it’s luck or a chemical imbalance in your brain perceiving what’s too difficult to explain. That belief is cursed by creativity because there’s always an angle to feed the belief and fuse your dominant thought further until you would die to preserve what only you can prove.
