When do instincts get in the way of insight?  What’s an instinct?  I would say an instinct is an action inspired by circumstances that threaten survival.  What happens when survival is about “saving face?”  Health takes a backseat to pride.  Pride is insight beyond our stubborn instincts projecting (insincere) optimism.  As a leader...optics drive many to follow or mutiny.  Always moving forward to save face allows pride to project (insincere) optimism to direct a group’s focus on what matters more.  Sometimes what matters more sacrifices YOUR survival; so long as others benefit from YOUR sacrifice.

Superheroes are driven by pride to sacrifice their health to save others.  Real heroes survive war.  Why?  Demons only die when YOU are dead.  So long as you live, demons will humble you with vices (like kryptonite).  Don’t love kryptonite because it rejects your sacrifice by being ungrateful to you.  Kryptonite is both a cunt and an asshole connected to a sore throat.  The shit-talk blesses a girl’s effortless attention with back-handed compliments.  Is your father an asshole?  Fragility is pride casting (insincere) optimism.  That ain’t pretty...
